On Saturday, March 5, 2022, the first meeting of the Medical Council of Neurosphery took place. Its aim is the collective pursuit of the systematic development of Polish epileptology and the cybernetic robot – Ictal®, which assists in the diagnosis and therapy of epilepsy.
The council comprises distinguished specialists:
The Medical Council invited the best specialists in the field of epilepsy treatment, who, through their actions, will contribute to the real and systematic development of Polish epileptology. They include:
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Beata Majkowska-Zwolińska – epileptologist, Vice President of the Epileptology Foundation, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Epileptology.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Ilona Kopyta – Professor at the Silesian Medical University.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Marcin Roszkowski – Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic at IP CZD.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Rafał Płoski – Head of the Department of Genetics at WUM.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Mariusz Gujski – Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at WUM.
Two research teams have been established:
A step towards creating a new quality of epilepsy treatment is the establishment of two research teams – for genetic ontology and for seizure syndromes. Their goal is to build a cybernetic genetic ontology for the Ictal® robot. The result of their work is intended to be the development of our Neuroterminal patient diagnosis and treatment system. The computer assistant will be able to more precisely diagnose seizure syndromes and suggest the necessity of genetic testing for a better diagnosis of the causes of epilepsy.
These actions are linked to the overarching goal of the Council – the constant development of professional and scientific qualifications, as well as the formulation of new principles for patient treatment at our Center. Progress will be discussed at regularly held meetings.
The Medical Council of Neurosphery has adopted a series of conclusions.
