Vocabulary

Electroencephalography test. A non-invasive measurement of the bioelectrical activity of the brain using electrodes placed on the surface of the head.

Inflammation of brain tissues.

Sensations and symptoms of electrical discharges in a small part of the brain, spreading to neighboring areas. They are considered a so-called small seizure preceding a major epileptic seizure.

An infectious disease usually of viral or bacterial origin. One of the complications can be epilepsy.

Permanent damage to brain tissue caused by stroke or inhibition of blood supply.

Non-cancerous vascular lesions that are caused by abnormal formation of blood vessels.
